So many parties…so little time summarizes the All Hallows Eve parties in Miami. It’s just one more reason to party like crazy in South Beach, as if an excuse is necessary here. Saturday night was thee party night with everyone pulling out all the stops; for those going to or throwing the parties. From all reports, good times were had by all at the Gatsby party at the Raleigh as well as Lenny Hochstein’s Annual Gala and the tried and true Vizcaya party. But for me, the IT party was first annual Nightmare on Lincoln Rd., a hellish gathering of 600 of my closest fiends.
The event was videotaped by Bernard Dino Bonomo, his uber sexy host Shanna, and BeanoVision productions. Click to view video.
My trusty sidekick, the Sulaman, and I arrived early to see the last of the finishing touches. As we arrived, the staff was turning on the smoke machines and getting the music cranked up. This party, benefiting the Little Lighthouse Foundation, was held on the 7th floor parking lot of the Lincoln Rd 1111 building. An odd location for a party until one takes in the views overlooking the Lincoln Rd colonnade and surrounding areas. There was plenty of room for the many VIP areas, bars, the dance floor, and even some exotic cars. The set up was definitely impressive from the DJ area and even the stage to showcase the dancers and other happenings.
Speaking of bars, there were more bars than a Beethoven concerto and the Grey Goose was loose with libations and concoctions flowing freely. There were also food stations set up throughout serving an assortment of delectable from ceviche to burger sliders. But what was the yummiest of all were the vampish outfits worn by some of the sexiest women on the planet. From the lingerie football outfits to the naughty nurses… day yum!
That brings us to the Costume Report. Miami goes all out for Halloween. The costumes at this party went from ghoulish to silly with most being very creative. The hottest costume that everyone was talking about was the Avatar couple. Really cool and realistic. Following a close second was Werewolf couple and the Angel Dude. Honorable mention goes to Shuichi for his minimalist but creative Twilight/Quileute Indian/Jacobish/Werewolf get up and my other co-hort in crime, Jason Inasi, for his eye’s wide shut personal sauna suit.
Also hot this year was the Chilean miners (our very own Man about Town- Dirk Desousa) and the perennial favorite, the Pocahontas…nothing like a sexy Indian. Last but not least were the bee people and bee keepers. Bob Seager sax man, Alto Reed was in the place with his sexy lady bee and friends. The Sulaman also did a good job with his homage to Jack Sparrow, complete with homemade wig and dreads. The Glenster is putting a formal ban on certain played-out costumes. I say no more to the kitten costumes or doctor outfits (unless you’re with a super smokin’ hot naughty nurse).
This was a party with a purpose as it benefited the Lighthouse Point foundation. An organization supporting children’s and family needs in South Florida. As the event was sold out, it raised some serious loot for the children in our area. Party on Garth! The event had numerous supporters including Grey Goose, Lucky Strike, The South Beach Athletic Club, Rosa Mexica and other fine sponsors. Toward the end of the night things got a little blurry toward the end of the night. I called it a day around twoish as others went on to the after party at Set or Liv, I was whisked away to parts unknown. Nightmare on Lincoln Rd will go down as one of the most memorable fetes of 2010 along with the undisputed title holder Michael Capponi’s Alice in Wonderland and the Silver Medalist Carl Kruse’s Kruseville B day party.
