Red Stripe Launches World Premiere of 'Ambassador Say Relax' Music Video
Red Stripe Beer today announced the world premiere of the Red Stripe Ambassador’s “Ambassador Say Relax” video, a reggae remake of the Eighties cult party jam “Relax” originally recorded by Frankie Goes to Hollywood. This remade track and video were produced by Stephen Marley and directed by Tim and Eric, the renowned comedy duo from the Tim and Eric Awesome Show.
Red Stripe Facebook fans received an exclusive preview of the video on the official Red Stripe Facebook page, where the complete video is now featured on the “RELAX” tab. Adult fans can also download the “Ambassador Say Relax” MP3 for free from the Red Stripe Facebook page.
“Red Stripe embodies the spirit of Jamaica and relaxation,” said Erin Chin, Red Stripe Brand Manager, Diageo. “It was only fitting for us to pay homage to this celebrated Eighties hit in a fun way that is true to our brand and its fans.”
The video will be edited into :15 and :30 television spots that will air throughout the summer. And, in celebration of the new “Ambassador Say Relax” video campaign, Red Stripe is releasing an “AMBASSADOR SAY RELAX” tee-shirt based on the iconic “FRANKIE SAY RELAX” that became popular during the Eighties. The “Ambassador Say Relax” video is also modeled after the original video from Frankie Goes to Hollywood.
“When enjoying our video with a cold Red Stripe Light in hand, remember to do so responsibly,” said the Red Stripe Ambassador. “Relax, don’t do it, don’t you drink too much.”
Red Stripe and its parent company, Diageo, remind fans: Hooray Responsible Drinking!”
